EAA Chapter 690 Flyout Events
What is a Flyout Event?

A Flyout event is an airshow or other event that a member(s) may be likely to travel to. The Flyout Event page here allows pilots to add themselves to an event indicating that they will be flying to the event on the dates they list and have open seats for toher to fly with them. We hope you will take advantage of this program and get an opportunity to fly out to an event you'd hoped to attend.

The six-day event on 2,200 acres has been recorded to have a $64,000,000 direct and indirect economic impact on the I-4 corridor in Central Florida as media from around the world cover the event that offers, jet teams, aerospace related exhibits; educational forums, aircraft static displays, professional gatherings of aviation and economic development groups; daily and evening airshows that include adrenaline pumping aerobatics, a veterans plaza and women in aviation arenas. Light Sport aircraft flies above parking areas and many performers are seen on the grounds with vendors and students. Youth activities that include a new young pilot campground; International visitors hospitality; evening entertainment, a womens’ pavilion and souvenir shops are highlights for visitors from more than 80 countries. Held at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport in Lakeland, FL, air traffic movements for the event elevates the airport to the ‘busiest in the world’ for one week. For the other 51 weeks of each year, activities on the SUN ‘n FUN Convention Campus include public and private events in the facilities on nearly 200 acres. The Aerospace Center for Excellence (ACE Educational Facilities) has introduced Aerospace Discovery at the Florida Air Museum in a dynamic fashion as it incorporates aviation history into hands-on interactive learning stations for students of all ages. SUN ‘n FUN makes more than $430,000 of scholarship funds available annually to students in Polk County entering an Aerospace Industry career to cover the cost of flight lessons and/or college tuition for 4 years. Description: You cannot fly in to this event, but you do need to go. With the winter winds blowing and the snow and ice accumulating, it’s hard to believe that everyone’s favorite RC event is just a few months away. In just a short while, you’re going to be able to shake off winter and meet with your very best friends, fly your favorite RC models, eat the very best food and enjoy life at the world’s premier aviation facility. It’s not too early to start planning the trip and anticipating the great times to come! This year, as in years past, the Triple Tree gang has been hard at work. You just can’t imagine the incredibly beautiful new river bank camping spots. This area will rival (or top) the very best you’ll find anywhere. What could be better than RC “music” duing the day and the river gently lulling you to sleep at night? New restrooms have been built on the patio. The Electric Line runway has been nurtured, leveled and rolled and should rival the main line runway. Yes, it has that same incredible, walk barefooted, grass! The vendors are going to be here in force and will have the very latest offerings. The food planned for this year is going to be exactly what you expect….delicious. The flying will be, as always, JUST AWESOME! So, shake off those winter blues and get your pre-registration in today. Before you know it, you’ll be at YOUR home of “Fun, Fellowship and Hospitality”.
